QUEST & RNS BIO

Born Jose Olaya in Jersey City, New Jersey (USA) and artistically recognized as QUEST, this Reggaetech recording artist was blessed into this world on July 1st, 1984. His stage name comes from the word ìConquestî and his genre choice is the result of a musical marriage between Reggaeton and Techno/Dance music. Reggaetech can best be described as the pop evolution of Reggaeton.

As a teenager, QUEST dipped into the music scene by getting involved with his high-school band, performing at random talent shows and even recording hip-hop tracks with local rap artists to try and make and name for himself. But it wasnít until 2007 that QUEST officially recorded and released his first single ìSilencioî, a catchy, street based track produced by Famine. His artistic hunger has led him to perform at major events like the Annual Montreal Merengue Festival in Canada and QUEST has even shared the stage with various Latin entertainers such as Tito Nieves, Don Omarís Marcy Place, Zion, DLG, Jowell y Randy, Krisspy, Hector el Father, De La Ghetto, El Chaval and LDA. For top performances, QUEST proudly wears and is sponsored by French designer Christian Audigierís Ed Hardy urban clothing line.

A Salsero at heart and always wearing a smile on his face, this prankster in disguise is truly the life of the party and the comic relief of the hour ñ with QUEST what you see is what you get, equally on and off the stage. His humility is un-shakable.

It is 2009 and QUEST is finalizing the recordings of his debut CD starting with the worldwide release of the Reggaetech single ìSheís Fireî, which after the promotional success of his album teaser tracks ìDale Jockieî and ìYo Yoî, Reggaeton fans everywhere are in for an original surprise! Ever since the late 1960’s the Latin community in the United States has been growing by leaps and bounds.s First, the Cubans and the Puerto Ricans came and opened up businesses and created the beginning of a culture foundation. Then there was an influx of other Latinos like Dominicans, Mexicans and other South Americans. But, in New York and New Jersey area, Caribbean culture has gained the strongest foothold. The Cubans in Union City, the Puerto Ricans in the Bronx and the Dominicans in Washington Heights are the dominating Latin segments. The effect that these people have had on life in America ranges from the food we eat to the music we listen to – especially the music. From Afro Latin Jazz to today’s Reggaeton, Latin music is huge! Its infectious beats come right out of the islands and onto the streets of our cities.

This cannot be truer than the music you hear in the streets and in the clubs of New York and New Jersey. Born from those sounds are Rubio, Nesio and Shorti aka. RNS is three brothers related by blood, heart and spirit. Their bond is hard like steel and the music that they create is hot and different from the sounds your hear now. Their beginning was making home made beats and music as a goof and for fun, but then they ran into producer Famine who heard something, A spark that is so rare that he felt it had to be shared and cultivated. Famine immediately got RNS into the studio and recorded some sounds that no one had ever heard.

Before they knew it, RNS was hot. Being played on the radio on La Mega, Hot 97 and Z100. They went on tours in Canada, Europe and throughout the U.S. Their blend of Latin and hip hop seemed to be hitting just at the right time. But, then, as with a lot of great artists, they experienced a huge set backs. Nesio had to go away on a government sponsored vacation due to a little problem he got into.

RNS found themselves in a strange place. Instead of their fans coming out and supporting them and prodding them to continue, they found the cold hard reality of having people turn their backs on them and start doubting them and their possibility of further success seemed dismal to say the least. After a short hiatus, and some soul searching and some encouragement from Nesio, RNS became even more committed to their mission of becoming successful.

Their newfound relationship with Mojo Muzik and with Quest in particular has sparked a flurry of creativity and excitement. With a new track (named party in dee ghetto) about to drop at the end of the 2009 and several major concert dates booked, RNS is poised to regain their standing in the Latin Hip Hop and Reggaeton community.

Jo Jo Quinones, Mojo Muzik CEO says “RNS is a group that I have known of for a long time. Their music and their drive and determination are going to put them on every radio in the U.S. and Mojo is in the process of guiding them along this path to success. I am extremely excited about RNS and our new relationship with them.”
